Educating our
youth (i.e., the future birthing population) about the
importance of conscious conception, healthy gestation and
gentle birth is a critical piece of shifting worldwide
consciousness about birth. To that end, I am committed to
offering weekly gatherings for youth between the ages of 17
and 30, to provide a safe space for young adults to gather,
share their thoughts, view pertinent videos, raise their
concerns, and get meaningful answers to questions about
love, relationships, sexuality, conception, gestation, birth
and parenting.
The important role
of the father during conception, gestation, childbirth and
parenting cannot be understated and is a topic that will be
strongly addressed during these gatherings.
Additionally,
raising consciousness about the impact of birth trauma –
both in our personal lives and in our society – is crucial
to the transformation of the current, trauma-based, birthing
paradigm. 95% of American births are considered
traumatic with 50% of these being rated as moderately
traumatic and 45% rated as severely traumatic. I
believe it is my duty to raise awareness about the dangers
of technological birth and to educate people about the
impact that current birthing practices are having on our
families and our community.
